You’ve made it out of your teen years and are looking forward to life as an adult. But then plenty of us still suffer from acne. How is that even fair? You think you’d have left that behind as a teenager, but that isn’t always the case. Though it is annoying and awkward, many people suffer from adult acne. So if you are looking for ways to deal with it, you’re in the right place. Read on, and your skin will be looking better in no time.
Invest in Your Skin Care
If your adult acne bothers you, then it is a good idea to invest in it. You are much more likely to see better results, than if you leave it to do its own thing. So having regular facials or treatments is an excellent idea. A facial will help your skin look as good as it can, as well as ridding toxins from your skin. This can help your acne, as well as any dark undereye circles. You could think about using a skincare range like Guinot skin care. They offer a chemical peel that can be used as a way to treat acne. So you could give it a go and see if you notice the difference.
Exfoliate More Regularly
Can you remember the last time that you exfoliated your skin? Like really did it properly? If you can’t, then I don’t think you’re alone. Many people don't do it regularly enough. This should be done on your face, as well as the rest of your body. Not all adult acne is just on the face. So the rest of the body need to be exfoliated too. Look out for a glycolic cleanser next time you are at a department store. Used alongside exfoliation and it can give amazing results.
Look at Hormone Treatments
If you get flare-ups of your acne at certain times of the month, then the chances are high that your acne is related to hormones. So exfoliating and facials will help, but might not erase it entirely. It could be worth speaking to your doctor about hormone treatments. It might be something simple like going on the contraceptive pill. Then it might just take a few months to get the hormone level in the pill right for you. There could be other options, so it is worth speaking to your doctor.
Don’t Pick at Spots
If you have a spot brewing, then don’t try to get to it too early. Often it will mean that you will make it worse. If you hands are dirty, it can mean more bacteria around the spot. If it isn’t ready to be popped, then it can also mean it will become more inflamed. I know it can be hard to leave it, but you have to! Squeezing them too early can lead to scarring too, so be careful. Just leave them to do their thing, and they will be much less painful.
I know several adults that suffer from this. These are great suggestions. I will pass this on. Thank you so much for sharing
ReplyDeleteSo as long as one keeps the face clean, right? Plus drinking a lot of fluids. Not everyone is fortunate though as some may have hormonal or other physiological reasons for acne. But for most people, it is also the daily grind, hassles, exposure to pollution, even lack of sleep, that causes poor skin condition.
