With November nearly halfway through and December unavoidably on the horizon, we have to admit that Christmas is coming. Wolverhampton has some fantastic festive events in the offing, and there’s no better time to start making your plans: the best ones will get busy early, so booking in advance and having a clear plan of attack is vital!
If you’re living in student accommodation Wolverhampton has some great events from November so you have a chance to get in some festive fun with your University friends before you have to head back home for Christmas.
One of the best ways to kick off the Christmas celebrations, however old you are, is a traditional pantomime. A trip to the Wolverhampton Grand for Aladdin will start the festive season in style, with a star-studded cast, sing-alongs and enough jokes to keep the children and the adults laughing - exactly the right mix for students.
Later in the season, a Christmas market comes to Wolverhampton city centre. From December the 15th more than 100 stalls and cabins will dominate the city, so you can pick up presents and decorations, or just soak up the atmosphere while you soak up some mulled wine. This year the market has a Victorian theme so you can expect to see stilt-walkers, dancing chimney sweeps and music filling the streets!
If you’re up to taking a trip slightly further afield, Telford is hosting an iconic Christmas milestone on the 7th December. If you make your way to the shopping centre from 11am to 7pm you’ll find the one sight that really shows Christmas has started. The Coca Truck is passing through Telford on its way to Birmingham and bringing Christmas with it!
For a classier affair, Wolverhampton Racecourse is offering lots of Christmas party dates on its calendar. They don’t necessarily include racing, so if that’s not to your taste you can choose a day that’s simply filled with food, drink, and entertainment and enjoy a wonderful Christmas party in some of the most luxurious surroundings Wolverhampton has to offer. It all culminates on the dancefloor with their resident DJ getting everyone on their feet to celebrate Christmas at the end of the night.
There’s plenty more going on so make sure you keep your ear to the ground and don’t miss out on some of the great Christmas events Wolverhampton has in the pipeline.
