Reduce Your Risk of Having Urinary Tract Infection



A Urinary Tract Infection also is known as UTI is a type of infection that affects any part of your urinary tract. It may affect your kidney, your bladder, ureter, and urethra. A lot of the diagnosed infections affect the lower portion of the urinary tract which includes the urethra and the bladder. People still need to get tested to know what part is infected if they are diagnosed.

Doctors would usually recommend antibiotics in order to treat UTI but what if you want to avoid antibiotics? There are other methods that are available but they are not guaranteed to work. The best way for you to avoid taking medications is to prevent the onset of a Urinary Tract Infection. How are you going to do that?

These are some of the things that you can do:
  • Consider taking a uti prevention capsule - There are some capsules that may be prescribed to you that can supposedly stop infections from forming. They may be taken at specific times. Ask your doctor about it so that you know when you should take it.
  • Know more about the birth control pills that you are taking - Women are at more risk of developing UTI. There are some birth control pills that may aggravate your condition. You can do research first and choose the right pills that will not have any effect on your chances of acquiring the infection.
  • Having new and frequent sexual partners will also increase the risk of women of getting UTI. Aside from practicing safe sex, you can abstain from sex if you do not want to increase the risk of acquiring the condition.
The above-mentioned risks are some of the things that you need to know in order to lower your risk of acquiring the infection. There are some things that will increase your risk even if you are trying your best to prevent UTI. Some of these risks are the following:
  • Having a weaker immune system means that you will not have a lot of defense against germs.
  • Kidney stones will trap the urine inside the bladder which can increase the risk of having an infection.
  • Undergoing surgery which also involves the urinary tract or even a checkup can also increase your chances of getting UTI.
You always have the option to take uti prevention powder if in case you would like to improve your defense against getting a urinary tract infection.
